長知識了,謝謝 。6.3應有過貴腐桶,因為喝起來有淡淡的貴腐桶特有的酸味
官網都有寫
6.3是一般美國橡木桶
4.2才是貴腐桶

The Islay Barley release is the third expression of the sixth series (6.3) of the enigmatic single malt which occupies a category of its own in the world of Scotch whisky. Releases are numbered in accordance with provenance and style, those designated .1 being distilled using barley sourced from the Scottish mainland and maturing in ex-Bourbon casks, those designated .2 having additional cask enhancement, and those designated .3 being distilled from Islay-grown barley.
Octomore 6.3 is currently being bottled in the Harvey Hall at Bruichladdich Distillery. It is anticipated to arrive in markets around the world during December 2014 - but timings will vary.
第二點 ( 2 having additional cask enhancement ) 強調有特別加強桶的事實,然而沒有詳細說明內容;據其品牌大使透露是: 70% Bourbon Casks + 30% Latour Casks 混合而成,但尚待廠方進一步證實。

octomore 07.1/ 208 ppm
Scottish Barley
Each release is a powerful illustration of the art of the master distiller. Each is necessarily unique, limited, finite, a celebration of nuance. It can never be reproduced.
For Octomore 07.1 barley harvested from mainland Scotland was peated to 208ppm. Five years in American oak. Bottled at 59.5%. Octomore stands alone.
We are pleased to announce the official launch of Octomore 7.1, the benchmark of the seventh edition of our cult single malt. This is the latest expression in the world's most heavily peated whisky series.
Our maltsters face a challenge with each barley harvest destined for Octomore - to try and coax as many phenols into the grain as they can. This is delicate, inexact art rather than science, the results varying according to a complex suite of factors, each a celebration of points of difference. Each edition is therefore unique, limited, finite. It can never be reproduced.
7.1 continues this tradition. Each year’s harvest is different, the creation of a new expression exemplifying the master distiller’s art. Using only barley sourced from the Scottish mainland, 7.1 is peated to 208ppm, but Octomore is about much more than the raw power of massive phenols. It is an intellectual challenge, a sensory exploration of barley provenance, cask management and artisanal distillation techniques.
Each new Octomore generates a huge amount of anticipation and excitement from connoisseurs and collectors around the world who have developed an appreciation of the alchemical methods employed by the artisans who operate the tall elegant stills at Bruichladdich under the watchful eye of master distiller Jim McEwan.
Challenging conventional wisdom, 7.1 is released at five years old to maximise the awesome power and vigour of the phenols. Matured in American oak and bottled at 59.5%abv without chill filtration the spirit retains its unctuous mouthfeel and presents its natural colour as "summer sun on Hebridean sand".
Jim describes the nose as: “Like sea spray and caramel, lemon balm and pipe tobacco. Slowly, the peat rises from the glass, gentle but strong, lifting vanilla, mint, toffee, golden syrup and almond.” On the palate, he finds: “Smoothness, sweetness and then smoke. A texture like no other, satin soft and devilishly warming. The American oak influence is in perfect tune with the smoke and soft fruits that have been delicately coaxed from the still during an exceptionally slow distillation.”
All Octomore is matured for all of its life in warehouses close to Loch Indaal and this marine influence is reflected in the mood created by this remarkable new single malt.. Jim concludes by saying: "The feeling is of long summer nights turning cooler as autumn approaches. This dram will transport you to Islay, to watch the sun setting over the sea while breathing in the peat smoke hanging in the air."

Summer sun on Hebridean sand
Initially the nose is sea spray and caramel, lemon balm and pipe tobacco. Slowly, the peat smoke rises from the glass, gentle but strong lifting vanilla, mint, toffee, golden syrup and almond. Peach follows with pear syrup and buttercup. A symphony, a delight to experience.
Wow! Smoothness, sweetness and then smoke. A texture like no other, satin soft and devilishly warming. The American oak influence is in perfect tune with the smoke and soft fruits delicately, skilfully coaxed from the still during exceptionally slow distillation. Vanilla, honey, citrus rise up to be met with sea spray and leather, smoked mussels mix with autumn bracken and crème brûlée.
As the sweetness from the oak fades the salt comes to the fore one last time while the gentle peat smoke steady and true grows and outlasts all else.
The feeling is that of long summer nights turning cooler and shorter as autumn approaches. Watch the sun set over the sea and breathe the peat smoke hanging in the air.
