討論~~為何今年的mma結果是這樣?

小弟在mma 的fb上面問了Serge Valentin兩個問題，

Serge Valentin:I am wondering why Suntory's products didn't appear on the 2014 mma list. It's weird. Does this mean two possibilities? For one, Suntory did poorly in 2014? Or, for the other, Suntory did not participate in this year's contest? It will be highly appreciated that you can kindly answer this question.

In Taiwan, a lot of people are very happy to hear such an mma 2014 result. However, it looks like a lot of distilleries did not take part in this year. Is it really so?

I haven't seen any Suntory indeed this year, it seems that they missed the boat, willingly or unwillingly. Remember the number of 'seats' is very limited, we can't take all of them. My personal opinion is that some distilleries send candidates because they know we'll score 100% blind, while others won't for the very same reasons. Anyway, again, the number of seats are limited and we 'might' not invite distilleries that have never answered in the past. We do not need them - and I guess they don't need us either.

Or let's put it this way, the MM Awards are like a Grand Prix, not all car makers participate - and in that case they can't win, obviously. It's certainly not a perfect reflection of the respective qualities of all whisky brands and distilleries that are available out there. Imagine all distilleries would send us candidates, we'd just sink ;-)
