麥芽狂人獎2007年名單公布了

看了這一期的麥芽狂人名單．再對比去年的名次．我有非常大的疑問．很多人都知道這個組織是由多國組成．而且不接受贊助．應該是非常公平ㄉ．去年金牌名單有macallan30y's雪利桶．可是今年這隻酒不但沒連任．甚至連銅牌都沒有．是評判者口味變了．還是故意輪流換人坐．而今年唯一一隻麥卡倫入榜的是３０年fine oak{銅牌}在去年的評比中也沒入榜.太多的疑惑讓我百思不解.去年金牌之一余市20年.今年竟然消失於名單中即使連銅牌也不見入列.難道說這些評審喜新厭舊甚於常人.又或是酒廠退步了{這個可能性我教不相信｝．不管如何．我發覺似呼這些喝遍萬家酒的評審们較喜歡新東西.而對40度的平常酒較難引起注目.假如這些成員幾乎都偏好原酒.那他ㄇ真的是金字塔上的那一端.畢竟原酒不是大部份人常喝或容易到處買到的.這份名單的變動性大到令我有些意外.我相信一定也有人有些想法.我想聽各位前輩的意見.

MMA麥芽狂人大賞 老實講剛開始舉辦時 有意願參加的蒸餾廠並不多 因為較引起行家注意並推崇的 往往是出自裝瓶廠的產品 而且絕大部份的蒸餾廠都是集團掌控 酒業集團壓根兒不理會這個團體的評分 只不過是這個團體在威士忌產業的影響力日增 因此有越來越多的酒業集團開始注意到在這個評比中得獎的重要性 才會有越來越多所謂原廠標準裝瓶(OB)的產品參與評比 而酒業集團挑選出來參賽的產品 其實每年都是不同組合 而且限定是最新出產的產品 比如威雀今年便是首度參賽 更以Blended Malt的身份拿到銅牌(只差一分就銀牌) 而Sherry桶的麥卡倫30年及余市20年今年有沒有參賽 嚴格說來我並不清楚 但MMA評審今年的口味喜好 確實是有起了很大的變化 因為評審之一是台灣人 經他證實 今年高年份酒的得獎機率較高 這一點確實與過去四屆產生極大落差

剛翻一下2006年酒訊刊登的MMA得獎名單 在這邊再針對平安三段兄的疑問提出解答 去年愛丁頓集團並未參與評比 所有得獎的麥卡倫及高原騎士 全部都是裝瓶廠的單一桶限量產品 那支金牌的麥卡倫30年雪莉桶 是出自Adelphi裝瓶廠的單一酒桶原酒 全球限量206瓶 由於是2006年裝瓶的 因此今年無法繼續參與評比 今年唯一以2006年裝瓶之姿參與評比的 只有第二名的Blackadder Raw Cask Glen Grant 36年 該酒款原本是要參與2006年評比 但樣品酒到達評審手中時 已經超過評比期限 因此延到2007年參與評比

按照MM Award的規定, 參賽酒廠不需要繳交任何費用, 唯一需要做的事情就是在規定的時間內送一瓶700ml的原裝酒進來參賽. 所以過去有得獎而現在沒得獎的最大原因應該是該酒廠沒有送酒進來. 以下是簡單的流程: Aug. 1 ~Sep 25, 願意參賽的酒商將酒寄到法國麥芽狂人Olivier那裏(他是葡萄莊園主,方便分裝) Sep. 25~31 有空的歐洲麥芽狂人會聚到Olivier那裏幫忙分裝成50ml小瓶, 所有的酒都僅以號碼標示, 由麥芽狂人Serge負責打亂, 他是唯一一位麥芽狂人中知道哪一個號碼是哪一瓶的人. Oct. 1~Nov. 25, 樣品寄出給14位評審, 評審必須在繳交分數後才會知道對應的酒名. Nov. 25~Nov. 31 計算分數與排名, 分數以扣除標準差之外的評分後平均, 平均90以上為金牌, 85~89.9銀牌, 80~84.9銅牌 評審的口感是有可能改變的, 我一直覺得評分是很主觀的事情 在台灣的麥芽狂人
