威鹿 GLEN GARIOCH 1968

Glen Garioch 29 yo 1968 (53.7%, OB, hogshead #627, 1997)

Colour: dark amber. Nose: lots of sherry now, starting on full nougat, caramel and chocolate as well as Smyrna raisins and wax polish. Quite some peat and meat. Develops on well hung game, bilberry sauce and cooked apples, high-end wine barrel, old rum, mullein cordial… Very rounded and sweet but nervous as well. Goes on with bananas flambéed and pina colada. Easy and… Creole indeed. Gets then meatier and meatier, with also quite some meat sauce. Very nice wood and but also strange hints of Parmesan cheese. Really playful. Mouth: vibrant and playful indeed but much more peppery now besides the sherry. Lots of fruits, fruit liqueurs and quite some wood, making it a little drying now and kind of bitterish. Lacks a little extra-complexity, I’d say, but it’s very enjoyable (and thick). Finish: long, dry, full-sherried, on coffee, pepper and a little mint. Very good but not totally stunning. It was probably a sherry hogshead. 88 points.

And also Glen Garioch 29 yo 1968/1997 (55.9%, OB, cask #624)

From The Timmermans 40-session. Nose: rather beautiful sherry despite a heavy meatiness. Big notes of cigar, game, tyres, pipe juice, peat... Very thick on the nose. Mouth: ultra-concentrated indeed but balanced, which is quite an achievement. Peat, orange liqueur, chewed cigar, Mandarine Impériale, gentian spirit. Comment: extremely rich - spectacular! SGP:744 – 90 points.

Glen Garioch 29 yo 1968 (57.2%, OB, Hogshead #625)

Colour: dark amber. Nose: ultra-big but also hyper-subtle sherry here. First we have figs and dates (truckloads), then superb tarry, rubbery, liquoricy and smoky notes (bicycle inner tube), then strawberry and quince jam, then plain prunes dipped in milk chocolate, then balsamic vinegar and cured ham (Parma)… In short, fab again, and I don’t even feel like I should add any water despite the high strength. Mouth: please call the anti-maltoporn squad. This is immense and, to tell you the truth, even a bit scary ;-). Finish: sorry, we haven’t got enough time. Comments: none. Except that this is probably the best cask of the large series of 1968’s that they issued around 1997 in my book (maybe together with cask #7). SGP:567 – 95 points.

總之 . 這是一支好酒 . 一支被忽視的好酒 . 台灣應該還找得到 . 只是應該沒什麼量 . 因為超過一半的量都被鎖住了 .

其實我在要回那隻貓之前就參閱過SERGE的評論

跟我熟的都會在一開始就學著看這些評論(除了英文欠佳者看分數)

我也覺得從分數上來看 他應是一支好酒 但是卻未能發光發熱(沒有好爸爸)

我也把看到的一些成交價PO上 當然我們的來源不同 價差是很大

有機會的話 應該找一支和BRORA第一版試ㄧ試

我覺得一些好東西沒試過的人很難體會它的優劣

低價時買來的 現在開的下去 等到高價時買了就要看機會開了

酒友就是要如此共同探究 才會互謀其利

很棒的資訊, 真羨慕Lagavulin兄,Glen Garioch 1968 單一桶確實都很棒, 能夠有機會品飲那麼多酒款實在令Kingfisher羨慕, 基本上我開始留意的時候已經沒什麼酒留在市面上了, (2002年左右) 慚愧.

國外的價格只能做參考, 基本上所謂的國際市場價格要看流通度與愛好度, 基本上Glen Garioch在國外的流通度很低, 愛好的人也不多, 少數的高端愛好者剛剛開始留意這間酒廠的高年份酒, 但是國際上流通有限, 目前有留意的人也很小心, 避免炒作. 所以國際上二手價格的混亂也是有道理的.

國內由於酒之最長期的耕耘, Glen Garioch的高年份酒款反而比國外選擇要多得多, 可惜酒之最的銷售策略讓這些酒流落全台各地, 多半都廉價出售, 實在非常可惜, 至今仍常聽說酒友們在各地淘寶的時候發現這些早期的Glen Garioch裝瓶, 可惜都與我無緣.

還是偶而有聽說某大咖手中有這些1968 Glen Garoich 重雪莉重泥煤的酒, 可惜我輾轉聽說的價格都高於我可以負擔的價錢, 還是算了!

手中有酒的大哥們: 珍惜吧! 這是可遇不可求的東西, 不過別期待增值, 會增值的東西是要有流通度的, 沒有流通度如何增值? 這是我不不只一次在各個場合說過的事情, 還是開心的喝掉吧!

你說的的這瓶威鹿"21Y_800ml的綠色瓷瓶", 應該就是1997年裝瓶的 . 如果真是開價2500元 . 那是10年前的價位 . 太便宜了 .

有機會再看到 . 應該好好把握 .
