Springbank 2019-5yo Sherry 100 proof

Late this afternoon, a parcel from SWA via DHL came safely and then I opened it to discover this dark-colored monster...
Nose-sweetness of dates or chocolate dominates even in a short distance...just lovely a very pleasant first impression
Palate-very smooth and balanced to wrap the tongue in a very comfortable manner perfectly hiding its strong abv at 57.1%. An extremely pure taste of sherry gets in the mouth with virtually no hint of sulphur making it rather easy but reluctant to swallow it. It is a heavy sherry but sherry does not break the harmony of whisky and so does the sweetness seemingly like a perfect torch to lend you warmth on your way on a stormy day to give your a comfortable companion...
Finish-medium length, it was still there after swallowing it for quite a while and that taste of chocolate stays a while...
Overall-it is a bargain if you can grab one even at the auction...it is definitely more mature of a bottle of whisky than its age statement...it is way better!
