今日打算出走三隻台灣少見的IB
1、BUNNAHABHAIN( 布納哈本):43yo 1968-2012
裝瓶廠: THE WHISKY AGENCY
桶 型 : Refill sherry butt
編 號:11K
Bunnahabhain 43 yo 1968/2012 (47%, The Whisky Agency, refill sherry butt, 498 bottles)
Not the first 1968 by the excellent TWA racing team. Colour: light gold. Nose: we’re more or less in same territories after the Mo Or, even if this baby’s more dirty, buttery, vegetal and slightly musty/mushroomy at first nosing (all that in a good way, mind you!) After a few minutes, becomes geared toward many more fruits, especially cider apples, and broken branches and roots. Same touches of curry as in the Mo Or and maybe a little smoke. Leather. Mouth: once again we’re pretty close to the Mo Or, this one having a firmer oakiness that imparts more grassy and spicy tones, all assets for sure. So more mint, maybe caraway seeds, nutmeg… But other than that, it’s the same fresh and even rather silky kind of fruitiness. No signs of over-aging whatsoever. Finish: pretty long, honeyed and fruity, with pleasantly sharp spices imparting more oomph (fresh pepper?) Comments: excellent, same score in my book. One could down litres of this as well ;-). SGP:651 - 90 points.
2、LAPHROAIG(拉弗格):13yo 1998-2012
裝瓶廠: THE ULTIMATE
桶 型 : Refill sherry cask
編 號:5.6K
Laphroaig 13 yo 1998/2012 (60.1%, The Ultimate, refill butt, cask #700394, 716 bottles)
There are many new 1998 Laphroaigs around but I chose this one because of its pedigree. Refill sherry, 60%, a lot of bottles… That’s intriguing! (most other 1998s come from bourbon wood). Colour: amber. Nose: imagine you just opened a new pack of Werther’s Originals (of the peated kind, hint, hint.) Huge toffee and smoke plus some milk chocolate, then, very gradually, more and more Laphroaigness, between brine and antiseptic. It’s a bit hot but it seems that we have a
winner in our glass… With water: evolves toward fino and vin jaune, walnuts, leather, curry powder and heaps of kelp,
both dry and fresh. I’d even add Thai crab soup ;-). Mouth (neat): A-wop bop-a loo-mop, a-lop bam-boom! No, no tutti
frutti, rather a very massive, almost monolithic mix of pepper, orange marmalade and cigar ashes. Absolutely huge
and, obviously, not very complex. So far?... With water: a lot of salt now, salted fudge, kumquats, pepper… Excellent
and, indeed, more complex although this is no lace, obviously. Finish: very long, with more pepper and more dried figs.
Salty aftertaste, with a lingering peat – as they say. Comments: a big phat sherried Laphroaig that, as they also say,
takes no prisoners. Spectacular. SGP:557 - 88 points.
3、LAPHROAIG(拉弗格):13yo 1996-2010
裝瓶廠: MALTS OF SCOTLAND
桶 型 : bourbon hogshead
編 號: 6.6K
Laphroaig 1996/2010 (57.6%, Malts of Scotland, bourbon hogshead, cask #7307, 273 bottles)
Colour: pale white wine. Nose: this one is very austere, flinty and sooty. Behind, some lemon and candied citrons and a little bacon and mint. Mouth: excellent, full, nervous yet rich and creamy, with this perfect combination of peat and lemon marmalade and just touches of salt, maple syrup and vanilla. Finish: long, rich, with an aftertaste on lapsang souchong tea. Comments: very nice nose and brilliant palate here. Maybe the hoggie was recharred?
SGP:548 - 90 points.
